Bristol Girls Can

‘Bristol Girls Can’ is the local activation to the widely acclaimed Sport England This Girl Can campaign aimed at inspiring women and girls to get active across Bristol.

For the previous nine years it has been run by Bristol City Council. From May 2024, the responsibility of the campaign has been assigned to Wesport.

Wesport, the Active Partnership for the West of England (BANES, Bristol, North Somerset & South Glos) is a sports charity that is passionate about helping people become more physically active and enjoy the benefits that an active lifestyle can bring and will look to continue the impactful work encouraging, empowering and building a community amongst women and girls across the region.

Exciting updates to the 2024/25 campaign and activity coming soon!

Bristol Girls Can is part of the national This Girl Can developed and funded by Sport England, which aims to break down barriers to exercise and inspire more women to get moving, no matter how they do it, how they look or even how sweaty they get.

The local campaign encourages Bristol women to share their stories, photos and feelings about getting active with an online community @BristolGirlsCan, who regularly give each other advice, guidance and support.
