Sara, 48, started Nordic Walking after having breast cancer 2 years ago. It’s a sport that gives Sara an all over body work out and she is now much fitter than she was before having cancer. The social aspect of Nordic Walking is really important to Sara. She enjoys exercising with her group without worrying about how she looks or how sweaty she gets. She finds the group very supportive and she can chat to people along the way, or walk ahead if she wants to get a bit of headspace. They often go out for coffee and more chat after – which is an added incentive to get out and go for a walk! For Sara the best thing about Nordic Walking is that “Anyone can do it, you don’t have to be fast, you don’t have to be sporty and you get outdoors whatever the weather”.
