I started walking as a regular activity during my recovery from breast cancer. Due to lack of appropriate classes nearby it made it an attractive option. Prior to walking I used to enjoy going to step aerobics.
I love the way exercising makes me feel, like I am taking charge of my own health and wellbeing. Actually doing something makes me feel positive. My skin is clearer, I’ve lost weight and I have noticed an improvement in my fitness and energy levels. Everyone says I look well, and because of me my friends and family have been inspired to get active.
My confidence in my body has grown and I feel I could definitely try other things. If someone was unsure about becoming active my advice would be ‘go for it’. It makes stops you worrying and makes you take action.
