Walking is convenient and can be quick to do; it’s also nice to do together with the kids. It makes me feel more energised, confident and positive and can be social, especially when you walk with friends. I try to fit in activity into my everyday life because it’s hard to get childcare to go to a structured activity. I have a treadmill and cross trainer at home, which I use in wet weather, with the baby on the mat!
I don’t get out of breath now and I’m generally fitter, more toned and stronger. If someone was unsure about becoming active my advice would be to try a little bit each day and build it up. Try your best and don’t give up.
